DDIT is a potent, non-toxic inhibitor of hyaluronan synthesis via targeting hyaluronan synthase (HAS), significantly suppresses the aggressiveness of triple-negative breast cancer cells grown in tissue culture.
DDIT is more potent than 4-Methylumbelliferone (4-MU) and displays significant anti-tumorigenic properties.
DDIT is active against both HAS2 and HAS3.
DDIT (80 uM, 24 hours) inhibited formation of hyaluronan cable-like structures in Hs578T cell cultures.
DDIT (80 uM) inhibited breast cancer cell wound healing and DDIT inhibits migration of breast cancer cells in lung microenvironment, blocked cell cycle progression and inhibits breast cancer cell proliferation.
DDIT inhibited self-renewal of breast cancer stem cells.
