Cortodoxone (11-Deoxycortisol, Cortexolone) is a glucocorticoid steroid hormone that can be oxygenated to cortisol (Hydrocortisone), exhibits corticosteroid binding characteristics, including DNA binding.
11-deoxycortisol is regulated by the hypothalamus-pituitary axis and responded to acute stress.
Cortodoxone impedes GABAergic neurotransmission and induces drug-resistant status epilepticus in mice.
