Carisbamate (RWJ-333369) is a neuromodulator possessing antiseizure and neuroprotective properties, blocks T-type voltage-gated calcium channels.
Carisbamate (RWJ-333369) inhibits kainic acid induced significant elevations in [Ca2+ ]i and long-lasting neuronal hyperexcitability in CA3 pyramidal neurons.
Carisbamate (RWJ-333369) suppresses spontaneous rhythmic epileptiform activity in hippocampal slices exposed to zero-Mg2+ or 4-aminopyridine.
Carisbamate (RWJ-333369) also protects murine hippocampal HT-22 cells against excitotoxic injury with glutamate.
Carisbamate (RWJ-333369) significantly decreases Ca2+ flux in human embryonic kidney tsA-201 cells transfected with Cav 3.1 (voltage-dependent T-type Ca2+ ) channels.
Carisbamate (RWJ-333369) inhibits glutamate transmission in the granule cell of the dentate gyrus.
