Caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE) is an active component of propolis and has an antiproliferative property in cancer cell lines via inhibition of NF-κB signaling, downregulation of inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) family proteins, and modulation of the balance of Bcl-2 family members, inhibits human Glyoxalase I (hGLO I) with IC50 of 7.9 uM.
