CW5107 (CW 5107) is a small molecule HSD17B7 inhibitor that enhances oligodendrocyte formation.
CW5107 inhibited HSD17B7 in oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs) with EC50 of 50 nM (4-methylzymostenone and zymostenone accumulation).
CW5107 enhances oligodendrocyte formation at concentrations as low as 25 nM.
CW5107 shows selectivity over other cholesterol pathway enzymes, with no other cholesterol precursors accumulating as detected by GC-MS-based sterol profiling.
