CRS3123 (REP 3123) is a novel diaryldiamine that inhibits bacterial methionyl-tRNA synthetases (MetRS) in Gram-positive bacteria as a novel agent to treat Clostridium difficile infection (CDI).

CRS3123 inhibits de novo toxin production in high cell density, stationary phase cultures of C. difficile at 1 mg/L.

CRS3123 demonstrates efficacy in the hamster model of CDI and is superior to vancomycin 0.5 mg/kg in CDI model.
