CNB-001 is a pyrazole derivative of curcumin with neuroprotective properties, inhibits extracellular Aβ toxicity in hippocampal neurons with EC50 of 400 nM.
CNB-001 inhibits amyloid-induced cell death in the MC65 system with EC50 of 300 nM, CNB-001 also inhibits the accumulation of Aβ and APP C-terminal aggregates in MC65 cells.
CNB001 significantly suppressed IL-6, TNF-alpha, and GM-CSF production by NHBE cells.
NB-001 (1-10 µM) suppressed the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced nitric oxide (NO) production and expression of inducible NO synthase (iNOS) in primary cultured rat microglia.
CNB-001 significantly suppressed the LPS-induced phosphorylation of p38 MAPK, but not ERK and JNK.
