生物&药学活性

CAIS-2 is a specific mitotic inhibitor, selectively inhibits chromosome congression without affecting spindle microtubules.
CAIS-2 exhibits concentration-dependent antimitotic and antiproliferative activities, with IC50 values of 7.2 μM and 3.5 μM in HeLa cells, respectively.
CAIS-2 does not inhibit spindle microtubule formation even at concentrations as high as 128 μM in HeLa cells.
CAIS-2 shows no significant effect on tubulin polymerization or tubulin binding to colchicine, even at 80 μM, in contrast to CAIS-1.
CAIS-2 shows no inhibitory activity against the ATPase activity of the CENP-E motor domain in vitro.
CAIS-2 inhibits HeLa cell proliferation.
