C2-8 is a small molecule inhibitor of polyglutamine (polyQ) aggregation in Huntington's disease neurons.
C2-8 efficiently inhibits aggregation in PC12 cells with IC50 of 50 nM; suppresses neurodegeneration in a Drosophila model of HD.
C2-8 penetrates the blood-brain barrier, shows improved motor performance and reduces neuronal atrophy and has smaller huntingtin aggregates in mice.
