Buthionine Sulfoximine (BSO) is a glutathione (GSH)-depleting reagent that inhibits gamma-glutamylcysteine synthetase (GCS, also referred to as glutamate-cysteine ligase, GLCL), the enzyme required in the first step of glutathione synthesis.
Buthionine Sulfoximine synergistically enhances melphalan activity against preclinical models of multiple myeloma.
