BMP22 is a potent inhibitor of autotaxin (ATX, NPP2) with Ki/IC50 of 0.17/0.27 uM.
BMP22 inhibited ATX-dependent invasion of rat MM1 hepatoma cells of mesothelial cell and human umbilical cord vascular endothelial cell (HUVEC) monolayers in vitro.
BMP22 showed a profound reduction in lung foci in vivo using the B16-F10 syngeneic melanoma metastasis model in C57BL/6 mice.
