BM-51 is a potent, specific inhibitor of cytochrome P450 enzyme CYP4Z1 with IC50 of 91.7 nM, shows high selectivity against CYP4 isozymes (>100 folds).
BM-51 attenuatees the tumor-initiating cells (TICs)-like traits of breast cancer cells.
BM-51 suppresses the progression and the function of PyMT-induced TICs in PyMT-CYP4Z1-KI mice and chemosensitivity of breast cancer cells.
BM-51 significantly inhibits the tumor-initiating ability of breast cancer cells and expression of stemness markers.
CYP4Z1 promotes breast cancer progression by enhancing TIC-like traits, promoting a de-differentiated and invasive phenotype, and reprogramming lipid metabolism.
