AZD4831 (Mitiperstat, AZD-4831) is a potent, selective and irreversible inhibitor of myeloperoxidase (MPO) with IC50 of 1.5 nM, >450-fold vs thyroid peroxidase in vitro.
AZD4831 displayed moderate clearance and high oral bioavailability in rats.
AZD4831 AZD4831 dose dependently inhibited the peroxidase activity in lavage fluid in BALB/c mice with zymosan-induced neutrophilic peritonitis.
