AM580 (CD336, NSC608001, Ro 40-6055) is an analog of retinoic acid that fuctions as a selective RARα agonist with EC50 of 0.3 nM.
AM580 shows relatively weak agonist activity against RARβ and RARγ (EC50, 8.6 and 13 nM, respectively).
AM580 inhibits the proliferation of various tumor cells, inhibiting survival signaling pathways and inducing apoptosis.
AM580 efficiently induces differentiation of human IPSCs in combination with CHIR99021
