ALG-055009 is a potent, selective thyroid hormone receptor β (THR-β) agonist with EC50 of 63 nM, 5.7 fold selective over THR-α.
ALG-055009 (>0.075 mg/kg) reduces serum lipid levels in a high fat diet rat model, significantly increases hepatic Dio1 and Me1 gene expression at doses of 0.15 and 0.5 mg/kg.
