ABT-102 is a potent, highly selective, orally active TRPV1 antagonist that inhibits agonist-evoked increases in intracellular Ca(2+) levels with IC50 of 5-7 nM.
ABT-102 shows high selectivity over other TRP receptors.
ABT-102 also potently inhibits capsaicin-evoked currents in rat dorsal root ganglion neurons and currents evoked by capsaicin, protons, or heat (IC50=1-16 nM).
ABT-102 blocks heat-evoked firing of wide dynamic range and nociceptive-specific neurons in the spinal cord dorsal horn of the rat.
