Zalsupindole (AAZ-A-154) is a potent, highly selective non-hallucinogenic psychLight competitive ligand/antagonist of 5-HT2 receptors (5-HT2Rs), exhibits antidepressant-like effects.
impact behavior without producing hallucinogenic effects in mice.
AAZ-A-154 promote dendritic outgrowth in cultured rat embryonic cortical neurons through activation of 5-HT2Rs, increases dendritic arbor complexity to a comparable extent as the fast-acting antidepressant ketamine (KET).
AAZ-A-154 produces long-lasting (> 2-week) beneficial behavioral effects in rodents following a single administration.
