A-804598 is a potent, selective and competitive P2X7 receptor antagonist with IC50 of 10, 9 , and 11 nM for rat, mouse, and human P2X7, respectively.
A-804598 also potently blocks agonist stimulated release of IL-1beta and Yo-Pro uptake from differentiated THP-1 cells.
A-804598 partially attenuates footshock increased IL-1β and CD14 mRNA in the paraventricular nucleus in rats (25 mg/kg).
