7ACC2 is a potent inhibitor of mitochondrial pyruvate transport (MPC) and monocarboxylate transporter (MCT) with IC50 of 11 nM for inhibition of [14C]-lactate influx, consecutively blocks extracellular lactate uptake by promoting intracellular pyruvate accumulation.
7ACC2 induces cytotoxic effects together with glycolysis stimulation and uncompensated inhibition of mitochondrial respiration in cancer cells.
7ACC2 sensitizes tumor xenografts to radiotherapy.
