4-Hydroxytamoxifen (Afimoxifene) is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) and the major active metabolite of tamoxifen.
4-Hydroxytamoxifen exhibits more potent estrogen agonist/antagonist activity and can inhibit MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cell proliferation with IC50 values of 27 and 18 uM, respectively.
