PFKFB3 inhibitor 3PO is a small-molecule, competitive inhibitor of PFKFB3 isozyme with IC50 of 23 uM.
3PO causes a rapid reduction in fructose-2,6-bisphosphate (F2,6BP), glucose uptake, and lactate secretion.
3PO attenuates the proliferation of several human malignant hematopoietic and adenocarcinoma cell lines (IC50=1.4-24 uM).
3PO selectively cytostatic to transformed cells and inhibits tumorigenic growth in vivo.
