    3-Ethoxy-5,6-dibromosalicylaldehyde binds to IRE1 in a specific, reversible and dose-dependent manner and inhibits XBP-1 splicing induced pharmacologically in human cells.
    3-Ethoxy-5,6-dibromosalicylaldehyde shows no inhibitory activity for RNases A, T1, or L.
