1ACTA is a specific small molecule inhibitor of IRE1α S-nitrosylation, selectively prevents the NO-induced reduction of RNase activity.
1ACTA rescues the NO-induced reduction in Xbp1s.
1ACTA does not affect the RNase activity of IRE1α, while suppresses the inhibition of RNase activity by NO.
1ACTA suppresses the decrease in IRE1c cleavage activity caused by S-nitrosoglutathione (GSNO; NO donor) without affecting XBP1 minisubstrate cleavage, and IRE1c cleavage activity.
1ACTA exerts a protective effect against cell death induced by NO and MPP+.
