(Z)-4-Hydroxytamoxifen is a major metabolite of tamoxifen, a well-known Estrogen receptor antagonist / SERM in breast but partial estrogen receptor agonist in endometrium.
(Z)-4-Hydroxytamoxifen shows a 100-fold increased affinity for ER and approximately 100-times more potent than trans-tamoxifen in suppressing cell growth and plasminogen activator activity.
