VEL-0230 (NC-2300) is a potent, selective cysteine Cathepsins inhibitor with IC50 of 284, 34.5 and 186 nM for Cat B, K and S, respectively.
VEL-0230 (NC-2300) does not inhibit other proteinases such as MMPs (IC50>1 uM).
VEL-0230 (NC-2300) prevents the progression of cerebral aneurysms by inhibiting ECM degradation in aneurysmal walls caused by cystein cathepsins.
VEL-0230 (NC-2300) significantly ameliorates PMA-induced psoriasis-like lesions in mice, and downregulates the expression of IL-12, IL-23, and Th17 cytokines.
