STK899704 is a novel tubulin inhibitor that inhibits the proliferation of cancer cell lines with IC50 of 0.2-1.0 uM.
STK899704 suppresses the growth of HeLa cells with IC50 of 350 nM, prevents the polymerization of purified tubulin in vitro.
STK899704 also depolymerizes microtubule in cultured cells leading to mitotic arrest, associated with increased Cdc25C phosphorylation and the accumulation of both cyclin B1 and Plk1 and apoptosis.
STK899704 shows anticancer activity in vivo.
